Joint task force examining forensic evidence in serial sexual assault case in East Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department and Kern County Sheriff's Office joint task force is waiting for results on forensic evidence that was submitted in connection with the multiple sexual assaults in East Bakersfield.
As of Friday afternoon, the task force was awaiting results in order to further investigate the incidents.
The two departments are currently investigating four sexual assault cases that happened in East Bakersfield between July 18 to August 19.

The suspect is described as a Black male with a dark complexion, in his late 20’s to 30’s, 5’8” to 6’0” tall with a medium build. He has been seen wearing a black ski mask, dark hooded sweatshirt and shorts. In the most recent case he was in possession of a handgun.
The Secret Witness continues to offer a reward for up to $5,000 for information on each of the four sexual assaults, with a maximum of a $20,000 reward.
