Jose Rosas arrested, charged with driving under the influence in central Bakersfield crash

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A man was arrested late Monday night and charged with driving under the influence. 

At about 10:50 p.m., officers with the Bakersfield Police Department were sent to the 2100 block of 23rd Street regarding a crash.

Officers said they found a blue GMC pickup truck had collided with a Honda Fit.

The driver of the pickup truck, Jose Rosas, 35 of Bakersfield was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of 23rd Street when he struck the Honda which had been traveling eastbound, officers said.

The driver and passengers of the Honda sustained moderate to major injuries.

Rosas was arrested on charges of driving under the influence causing injury. The investigation is continuing.
