KCSO: Baby stopped breathing, died in east Bakersfield; Deputies investigating

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a baby not breathing at a home in the 3100 block of Monterey St. in east Bakersfield at 10:07 a.m. Monday.
Deputies and medical aid arrived at the home however the baby, identified as two-month-old Jayden Rodriguez, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives responded and have initiated an investigation into the infant’s death.
There did not appear to be any trauma or obvious cause of death.
The Coroner’s Office responded and took custody of the baby. An autopsy will be performed to determine cause and manner of death.
