BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - On Thursday, July 10 around 4:30 p.m., deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office Gang Suppression section conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of California Avenue and L Street.
Deputies found that the driver, 43 year old Joseph Gaitan was on probation and was electronically monitored.
Deputies went to Gaitan's home and during a search they said they located over 11 grams of methamphetamine, $2,500, packaging material, scales and other narcotic paraphernalia.
Gaitan was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Gaitan was removed from the Electronic Monitoring Program and booked into the Central Receiving Facility.
