BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County Sheriff's Department detectives responded to a report of a homicide on a property in the 3600 block of Edison Highway Monday.
KCSO spokesman Ray Pruitt says detectives located partial remains of an adult female burned in a fire pit, but haven't located a body on the property.
Detectives were called out at about 1:30 p.m. Monday regarding a tip they received that a homicide occurred Sunday on the property.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Detectives said they have spoken to several people who live on the property. The property is being searched and processed by the Sheriff's Office Technical Investigations Unit.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on this case should contact the Sheriff's Office at (661) 861-3110.
