Body found partially buried near Poso Creek bed is identified

MCFARLAND, Calif. - Officials with the Kern County Sheriff's Office said a partially buried body was found in a creek bed Friday morning.

Officials went to the area near Hwy 43 and Whisler Road where a farm laborer reportedly discovered the body at about 8:30 a.m.

According to officials, the man was wandering the area of the Poso Creek, in hopes to find a spot to relieve himself when he stumbled across the body.

The farm laborer told his supervisor of what he saw and they both called the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said the body was partially buried near the creek bed and they are uncertain of how long the body had been there.

On Dec. 18, officials identified the victim as 38-year-old Inocente Porras of McFarland.

The cause of death was determined to be multiple stab wounds and an incised wound of of the neck, according to officials.

The investigation is still ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
