BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A victim of a deadly fight at a Bakersfield group home died by positional asphyxia, according to Kern County Sheriff's Office officials.
The KCSO said Joseph Adam Lynch's death is considered a homicide.
Deputies said Lynch, 27, assaulted a staff member in early July at the group home on Hinsley Street, north of Lamont, near Weedpatch Highway.
Investigators also said other staff members tried to control Lynch, but by the time deputies arrived, he wasn't breathing.

Lynch was taken to Kern Medical Center where he died.
