KCSO: Man found dead in almond orchard died of multiple gunshot wounds

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Officials released the cause of death of the man found in an almond orchard Sunday.

After completing a postmortem examination, the cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner is homicide, officials from the Kern County Sheriff's Office Coroner Section said.

Investigators identified the victim as Todd Chance, 45, of Bakersfield. 

Detectives found the victim's black 2011 Ford Mustang abandoned near the intersection of Tigerflower Drive and Wheatland Avenue in Bakersfield.
