KCSO: Man shot in east Bakersfield, witnesses identified suspects

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Deputies were sent to the 2900 block of Kentucky Street regarding a shooting on Saturday at about 11 a.m., officials of the Kern County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies found the male gunshot wound victim nearby on the 2900 block of Lake Street suffering from a single gunshot wound to the stomach, officials said.
Both victims were transported to Kern Medical Center for their injuries. The victim of the assault sustained no life threatening injuries while the victim of the gunshot remains in critical condition, officials said.
Witnesses identified Joel Rodriguez, a Hispanic male in his 20s, as the suspected shooter, officials said.
Rodriguez was in accompany of Ephran Ugues, 27, and Jeremy Ugues, 31, at the time of the shooting. All three suspects fled the area in a black 2001 Ford Explorer, with license plate 6FAZ764, still armed, officials said.
Deputies could not locate the suspects, officials said.
