KCSO: Man wanted for attempted murder in shooting in Wasco

The Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in locating Mario Quintana.

On March 4 around 3:19 p.m. deputies from the Wasco substation responded to the area of 4th Street and Poplar Avenue regarding a victim of a shooting, police said.

When police arrived they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries and is listed in serious condition, police said.

Detectives say they have identified Quintana as the person responsible for the shooting and there is probable cause to arrest him for attempted murder. Police say after the shooting Quintana fled the area in a vehicle described as a black mid to full-size pickup with chrome rims.

If anyone has any information on Quintana's whereabouts they are asked to call the sheriff's office at (661) 861-3110 or Secret Witness at (661) 322-4040. Anonymous text tips can also be sent to TIP411 (847411), just make sure to type the keyword "KCSO" prior to the message.
