BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -
Shots were fired and firearms were seized during an investigation, according to officials.
On March 14, at about 2:46 am, deputies went to the Acari Road and Borda Lane area regarding numerous shots fired and a person screaming.
Deputies said they arrived and began searching the area.
Deputies found 38-year-old Carl Robert Rebiejo, of Bakersfield, in the backyard of a home. Deputies also saw evidence of a gun being fired.
Carl Robiejo was intoxicated and initially uncooperative, according to deputies.
Deputies were able to detain Carl Rebiejo pending further investigation.
Carl Rebiejo’s wife, 38-year-old Amy Rebiejo of Bakersfield, was contacted during the investigation.
Deputies said Amy Rebiejo was intoxicated and assaulted a deputy while deputies were detaining Carl Rebiejo. Amy Rebiejo sustained minor injuries after struggling with deputies, officials said. Amy Rebiejo did not require any medical treatment.
Deputies obtained a search warrant for the home. Deputies said they found numerous firearms which included an unregistered AR-15 assault rifle and AK-47.
According to officials, Carl Rebiejo fired several rounds in the backyard. Deputies also discovered one of the handguns found was reported as stolen out of Los Angeles.
Carl Rebiejo was arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility for reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of the unregistered assault rifles, possession of stolen property, and resisting a peace officer.
Amy Rebiejo was arrested and booked into the Central Receiving Facility for assault on a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.
