OILDALE, Calif. - Standard Elementary in Oildale was on lockdown after officials with the Kern County Sheriff's Office received a report of a person with a gun on campus.

On Feb. 15, at about 10:00 a.m., officials said they went to the school regarding a gunman on campus.

Officials said after taking extreme precaution and during a thorough search they did not find a suspected gunman.

Officials said they are currently trying to contact the person who made the call about the alleged gunman.

Parents of students did show up to pick up their kids, according to school officials.

School officials said parents can pick up their students, however, the school will remain open and run on regular schedule for those that can't.

Buses are expected to run their normal schedule, as well.
