LAMONT, Calif. - Kern County Sheriff's SWAT team officers were in Lamont Friday night looking for a man they say is wanted for attempted murder.
The KCSO said that officers responded to a shooting on Mountain View Road near Lamont on the morning of July 24. There, they were told by Shannon Provience that he had gotten into a fight with the suspect, 45-year-old James Fein.
Provience said Fein pulled a gun on him and shot him twice before leaving the scene.
Last night, the Sheriff's department received a tip that Fein was inside a home on the 8400 block of Muller Road. A SWAT team later determined Fein was no longer in the house.
Provience is expected to survive and is currently being treated at a local hospital.
