BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Thursday afternoon the Kern Coalition for Citizenship will rally for immigration reform one day after Republican's refused to accept the Senate's proposed bill.
The bill would've boosted the US-Mexico border with 700 miles of fences and establish a new guest worker program that could lead to citizenship.
House Speaker John Boehner said House Republicans will propose their own bill that would only grant citizenship to children illegally brought here by their families.
The rally will take place outside Congressman Kevin McCarthy's office at noon located at 4100 Empire Drive.
