Kern County Coroner: in-custody death due to meth intoxication

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County Coroner has determined the cause of death for a Bakersfield man who died in the custody of police officers, last month.
According to the Coroner, 49-year-old Alexander Main died from meth intoxication and the manner was accidental.
Police attempted to arrest Main on August 7, after they received a call to a home on Eagle Valley Place for family peace disturbance.

According to officials once Main was in handcuffs they noticed he did not have a pulse and wasn't breathing. Officers then started CPR, but were not able to revive Main.
