Kern County deputies investigating possible homicide on Vista Street in Bakersfield
A person of interest was taken into custody for his possible connection in a suspicious death in Bakersfield.
At about 3:50 p.m., on June 11, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Gang unit found 20-year-old Eddie Rivas at an apartment on Edison Hwy, where he was taken into custody. Deputies said that during a homicide investigation they found probable cause to arrest Rivas for murder.

Officials said that a body was found in a house garage after neighbors called and reported a bad odor emerging from the building. Officials said it appeared that the body had been there for a while.

At this time, the body has not been identified.
Rivas was booked at the Kern County Jail on charges of murder.
