Kern County disposal sites closed on Thanksgiving Day

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -  

All Kern County landfills and transfer stations will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
 
“We recognize that people clean up around their yards and home during the holiday and we want to get the out the word that landfills, transfer stations, Special Waste Facility and the City of Bakersfield Green Waste Facility will be closed on Thanksgiving Day,” says Doug Landon, Director of the Kern County Waste Management Department.
 
The Boron Sanitary Landfill will be open on Friday, Nov. 23, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m., to provide the services that are normally scheduled on Thursday.
 
All other disposal sites will resume to their normal operating hours which can found on the web at www.kerncountywaste.com. For information about changes to garbage pick-up days, contact your area garbage collection company.
