Kern County Helicopter 408 to be honored for role in Vietnam War

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County Helicopter 408 will receive a special honor this weekend for its role in the Vietnam War.

A service ribbon and unit patch dedication ceremony will be held at Keene Helibase on Saturday, May 11.

It's to honor 408s involvement in the Vietnam War as a combat helicopter.

The armed service support riders will be on hand to place both emblems on the chopper.

The ceremony will begin at 5:45p.m. 

However, a ride will leave Bakersfield Harley-Davidson at 5:00 p.m. before the ceremony to honor the helicopter.
