Kern County officers to play Kern County firefighters in Ice Hocket at Rabobank Arena

Proceeds to raise money for local charities

On Dec. 14, officers from the California Highway Patrol, Shafter Police Department, Kern County Sheriff's Department, Bakersfield Police Department and Corrections Department will be playing against the Kern County Fire Department and Bakersfield Fire Department at the Rabobank in ice hockey.

Deputy Chief Brian Smith, who is the captain of the "Cops" team said, "We have been playing in this annual event for over a decade and raising a lot of money for local charities."

The game starts at 3:30 p.m. and anyone with a ticket can also go to that night's Condors game with the same ticket.

Anyone with tickets to the Condors game that night, can get into the game with just with their ticket. So it wouldn't cost them anything to go watch the game.

There will be patrol and fire vehicles driving around the ice at the Condors game that night and a short game of sled hockey with handicapped hockey players.
