Kern County Officials are considering making recycle bins mandatory

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County Waste Management Department is hosting a public debate on the idea of making the blue recycling bins mandatory.

County leaders are considering changing voluntary curbside recycling to mandatory for more than 40,000 homes in metropolitan Bakersfield.

According to the Bakersfield Californian, it may cost a few dollars more on your monthly bill.

The forum starts at 2700 M Street beginning at 6:30 p.m.
