BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -

Kern County officials are upset with the way the state is handing out money to help them deal with all the extra inmates that were a result of prison realignment.

The county says funding used to be portioned out based on the number of inmates they took back from the state.

But Kern County officials say the formula has been changed to favor the major metropolitan areas.

Now county leaders are asking the governor to reconsider the funding formula yet again.
