Kern County Sheriff's deputy involved in early morning crash

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - 1ST UPDATE: The deputy involved in the accident had lights & sirens on and was en route to Hart Park, according to Kern County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Ray Pruitt.

The deputy suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released.

A Kern County Sheriff's deputy has been involved in an early morning crash in Oildale.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 6:44 a.m. Wednesday morning near the intersection of N. Chester Avenue and W. China Grade Loop.

23ABC photojournalist Geoff Burres reports the patrol car ended up in the center divider of N. Chester Avenue with front-end damage and a broken side mirror.

There is no word on injuries or the identity of the deputy involved in the crash.
