Kern County Sheriff's detectives seize drugs and firearms near Boys and Girls Club in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Detectives from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Major Violator Unit seized two firearms and large amounts of drugs at a home near the Boys and Girls Club in Bakersfield, Wednesday.

Detectives were sent to a home on the 800 block of Monterey Street, which is located less than 50 yards away from The Boys and Girls Club. 

During a search of the home, investigators found approximately one and a half pounds of methamphetamine, one pound of marijuana, two ounces of heroin, a small amount of cocaine, various prescription pills and about $13,000.00 in cash believed to be proceeds from illicit narcotics sales. Detectives also located a .380 semi-automatic handgun and a fully automatic Uzi 9mm sub-machine gun.

Deputies arrested  33-year-old Miguel Aguilar who was in possession of an illegal knife and marijuana, at the time of his arrest. 

Aguilar was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for possession of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and marijuana for the purpose of sales, felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, participation in a criminal street gang, and other drug and weapon related charges.
