BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A body found in Kern River has been identified.
On July 9, at about 11:30 a.m., deputies with the Kern County Sheriff's Office went to Hart Park regarding a body in the river. According to reports, the body, later identified as 44-year-old Clayton Carl Hurst, was found by the water wheel in the river.
Officials said Search and Rescue was called out to the scene to retrieve Hurst's body.
At this time, no cause or manner of death has been released.
