Kern County Sheriff's Office: Man arrested for burglary

Investigation led to suspect's involvement

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Deputies arrested a man for theft last week, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

On June 13, a burglary occurred at an equipment yard for a large farming operation in the area of Rancho Road and Valpredo Road. 

During the burglary, officials said large water valves and large irrigation pipes were removed from the location. 

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit conducted an investigation and determined Manuel Mendez Pantoja of Arvin, who was in possession of the stolen items, was responsible for the burglary. 

The stolen items were worth about $10,000.  Manuel Mendez Pantoja caused about $500 in damages during the burglary. 

Manuel Mendez Pantoja was arrested for grand theft and possession of stolen property.  Manuel Mendez Pantoja was transported and booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility.
