Kern County Sheriff's Office seized 5lbs of meth, 1lbs of heroin in Southeast Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County Sheriff's Office Narcotics detectives seized five pounds of methamphetamine and one pound of heroin from a car in Southeast Bakersfield, Wednesday.
Around 7 p.m. investigators developed information that Manolo Benitez, 34, of Tujunga, California and Clapsira Lazcano-Lopez, 37, of Paramount, California were in possession of large amounts of meth and heroin, detectives said.
Both suspects were arrested after detectives found the drugs in their car.
According to authorities, the estimated street value of all the drugs seized was about $275,000.00.
Benitez and Lazcano-Lopez were booked into the Kern County Jail in connection with various drug related charges as well as conspiracy and possession of false citizenship documentation.
