BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kern County's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Questioning community will held its 9th annual Pride Festival on Saturday at Stramler Park.

This year's theme was 'Born this Way'.

The event is dedicated to fostering an optimistic and positive future for all LGBTQ people and supporters.

Entertainers and vendors swarmed the area to show their support of the community.  There was also a Kidzone, that featured a jump house, games, crafts, and a facepainter.

The community intended to re-dedicate itself to improving the LGBTQ people, many of whom face bullying and abuse because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
