Kern County students advance to National History Day finals

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -
Eight students from Kern County schools achieved honors at the National History Day-California competition, which concluded Sunday in Sacramento.
The annual competition focused on the theme “Turning Points in History” and brought together those students who had won History Day competitions in their own home counties to challenge for the title of state champion.
Kern County students earned the right to compete at the state competition by winning in their category at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools-sponsored Kern County History Day in March.
The three winning entries listed below are now eligible to compete at National History Day to be held June 9-13 at the University of Maryland.
