Kern County suing former Independence High quarterback over accident with Sheriff's technician

Quarterback is paralyzed

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A former Independence High School quarterback who was paralyzed from the waist down might be forced to pay up following a traffic accident.

The county filed suit against Tyler Schilhabel back in July, after he rear-ended a car driven by a Sheriff's technician on Panama Lane.

The accident happened in August of 2011, almost exactly a year after a quad accident left him paralyzed.
