BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Kids from the Boys & Girls Club will be taking weeks of hard work to the theater stage Friday.
The Boys & Girls Club’s Performing Arts Program’s young thespians have been working for the last six weeks on learning their lines, songs and dance routines for “Aladdin Jr.”, a stage adaptation of the hit Disney film, according to a news release.
The Boys & Girls Club said the audience can expect magic, mayhem and flying carpet rides.
Opening night is Friday, August 2 at Donald E. Suburu Elementary School, 7315 Harris Rd. Additional performances will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the Boys & Girls Club Armstrong Youth Center at 801 Niles St., or by calling (661) 325-3730.
The proceeds will support the Boys & Girls Club of Kern County’s Performing Arts Program.
