The University of La Verne hosted a panel discussion on Thursday night that included Dolores Huerta, UFW representatives and the president of the Farm Worker Institute for Education, also known as F.I.E.L.D.

The students were asked to get involved by helping farm workers become educated in what immigration and public services are available.

F.I.E.L.D.’s president also spoke about education amongst farm workers. He says the biggest challenge right now is literacy and ESL, making sure farm workers are confident enough to use what they learn in the community.

The students were also asked to get out and vote and to not only get involved in the national races but also the local elections.
