BAKERSFIELD - After six long years the study phase of the Lake Isabella dam project is finally complete, which means one of the 10 most hazardous dams in the nation is one step closer to being repaired.

Tonight the army corps of engineers presented their six-hundred page, final environmental impact statement report.

The next phase of the project will be the engineering design phase, and after that, construction will begin.

Several citizens showed up to Thursday’s meeting and their concerns all had one common theme... Let's get this ball rolling!

The new report contains a strict schedule that is broken down annually for the next ten years... At which the project is expected to be complete.

The corp has estimated that the project could provide jobs, but would not say how many.
