BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -  

Nighttime lane closures originally planned for tomorrow on State Route 58, between Real Road and the Cottonwood Road, have been rescheduled for Sunday, Jan. 27.

Motorists should anticipate lane closures for this area to continue at night for the next two weeks.

The closures will remain in effect between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.

At least one lane will remain open to both westbound and eastbound traffic at all times.

All lanes are expected to reopen in time for the morning commute. Shoulder closures may also be required while work is underway.

The closures will allow crews to drill for soil samples in support of the preliminary engineering and environmental work underway for the Centennial Corridor Project.
