BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Motorists traveling on P Street or Madison Street, in the vicinity of State 58, should be prepared to stop for construction crews tonight, Jan 22, 2014, between 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.
This operation will require closing one travel lane and conducting traffic control with the use of flagging personnel through the work zone. Motorists should anticipate wait times of up to five minutes.
The contractor for the State Route 58 Gap Closure project plans to place concrete barrier rail along the roadway.
On Thursday, January 23, 2014, the contractor plans to place concrete barrier rail along Cottonwood Road, at State Route 58. This work will also take place at night, between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 6 a.m., and will require closing one travel lane on Cottonwood Road. Flagging personnel will be conducting traffic control through the work zone and wait times could last up to five minutes.
Motorists are also advised to anticipate lane closures for the outside travel lanes on State Route 58, between Union Avenue and Cottonwood Road, on Thursday, January 23, 2014. The lane closures will affect both directions of travel and will be in effect between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. These lane closures are needed to allow the contractor to make roadway repairs.
Motorists are reminded to obey flagging personnel and construction signs and to pay close attention to construction vehicles and personnel while driving through these areas.
