A time capsule will be buried under a large oak tree known as the Founders' Tree and marked with a plaque and instructions to be opened in the year 2062.
The Founders' Tree was grown from an acorn planted by Sadie A. Lucy, co-founder of Hillcrest Memorial Park 50 years ago.
Community members and organizations are encouraged to provide items to be included in the time capsule. Items will be accepted until Oct. 5.
