BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A ceremony will mark the latest milestone of a massive freeway project.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the latest segment of the Westside Parkway will be held on the north side of Stockdale Highway near Heath Road at 1:30 p.m.
This phase will extend the freeway from Allen Road to Heath Road, adding two miles in addition to a bridge at Renfro Road.
It's expected to take 18 months to finish.
