BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Organizers with Links for Life are warning Kern County residents of a recent phone scam that has targeted the organization.
Links for Life executive director Jennifer Henry said that multiple residents have been contacted over the phone being asked to donate to the organization.
Henry said that Links for Life will never solicit for donations over the phone.
If you receive one of these calls, residents should not give a contribution, said Henry.
Links for Life is one of the only grassroots breast cancer organizations in the county. All of the money raised by the organization stays in Kern County.
If people would like to donate to the organization they can do so by calling the office, (661)322-5601 or at www.linksforlife.org.
