BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County Department of Human Services 2013 JobFest Series will wrap up Wednesday morning with a final event in Lake Isabella.
The Lake Isabella JobFest will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Lake Isabella Senior Center, at 6405 Lake Isabella Boulevard. It comes one day after a similar event in Bakersfield.
"JobFest has been bringing employment opportunities to every region of Kern County," according to a press release from organizer Heidi Carter-Escudero.
"With Kern County's overall unemployment rate as of February at 13.6%, the JobFest series is just one way DHS works to improve the lives of children and families throughout Kern County."
Lake Isabella's unemployment rate is currently at 16.0%.
All employers participating in the JobFest have current, open positions and are seeking employees to fill these positions. There is no cost to attend the event, but children are not allowed.
According to Carter-Escudero, job seekers should come to JobFest "dressed for success" with at least 20 copies of their resume or master application. She also recommends arriving early, as large crowds are expected.
