BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The local chapter of the National Association of Professional Women will meet at the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald Houston to turn doing lunch into doing good for families of pediatric patients in Kern County on Wednesday, Oct. 10 from noon to 1 p.m.

Bakersfield chapter members and guests will be encouraged to take the amount of money that they normally would spend on lunch and instead, donate it to BRMH.

Funds collected will stay local to benefit the hundreds of families that call BRMH home when their child is sick in the hospital.

"The goal of the Bakersfield Chapter is to network with great women, grow our chapter and give back to worthy causes in our community," said Janelle Capra, NAPW Chapter President.

The Bakersfield Chapter of NAPW was formed in 2010 and recently re-launched with the mission to highlight local women in business, visit local organizations and give to local charities during monthly luncheons.

Octobers luncheon will conclude with a tour and a group cookie decorating activity for the BRMH families.

The NAPW Bakersfield Local Chapter also plans to form a walk team for next years Walk for Kids.
