Local law enforcement and fire fighters are battling for your blood donation this week

Local first responders are competing for donations

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Starting Monday morning your blood donation will not only save lives but could also give local first responders bragging rights for the entire year.

It's the third annual Boots vs. Badges Blood Drive and your donation can either go towards law enforcement or fire fighters and emergency medical technicians.

This event is in honor of National Burn Awareness week and your donations will help benefit the Grossman Burn Center at San Joaquin Community Hospital.

If you'd like to contribute, here is a list of places you can donate at throughout the week:

Monday:

Arvin fire station 8am-11am

Lamont David Head Center 1pm-4pm

Tuesday:

Shafter fire station 8am-11am

Wasco fire station 1pm-4pm

Wednesday:

Delano fire station 8am-4pm

Thursday:

Taft fire station 8am-11am

Frazier Park fire station 2pm-4:30pm

Friday:

Tehachapi fire station 8am-11am

Rosamond fire station 2pm-4pm

Or at the Houchin Community Blood Banks located at 5901 Truxtun Ave. or 2600 G St. from 9am till 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, Thursday from 9am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm.
