BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A local program is working to prevent bullying in schools this morning thanks to a generous donation.
The Waking Up Courage Campaign received a $74,000 grant from the State Farm Youth Advisory Board.
The campaign picks six students and one adult from more than 40 Kern County schools to receive training on bullying prevention.
The students learn how to look out for bullying on campus and work towards stopping it.
The anti-bullying teams also hold assemblies, parent workshops, and lead youth discussions.
