BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A piece of Bakersfield history will soon be gone.

According to The Bakersfield Californian, the Green Frog Market on Bernard and Alta Vista will be closing its doors permanently on Jan. 13.

The market is reportedly looking for a new location after their lease has ended.

The locally-owned market has been serving the City of Bakersfield since 1934, but its first location was located on California and Chester.

Owner, Charlie Everett passed away in 1988, however, his family chose to carry on his legacy.

The market has been well-known for featuring local items and products that were unique to Bakersfield.
