Low-cost rabies vaccinations, licensing for Bakersfield area pets

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division would like to invite the community to a low-cost rabies vaccination, licensing and microchip clinic for their pets.

On Saturday, July 13, the City of Bakersfield Animal Control Division will be offering low-cost rabies vaccinations and licensing for city residents. City residents will also have the opportunity to have their pet implanted with a free microchip, if their pet is currently licensed.

The microchip program is an effort focused on reducing the number of animals entering the shelter system. Typically, microchipped pets are not taken to the shelter they are returned home.

The event will be Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Virginia Avenue Park, located at 2022 Virginia Avenue.
