BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - When the Cain family decided to take their 11-year-old daughter Reagan to her first Los Angeles Dodger's game, the unexpected happened.
"I was sitting and this foul ball came down and I yelled at my friend and said, 'catch the ball! catch the ball!' and I looked down and blinked and I felt something hit against my leg," Reagan said.
A security guard notified her father, Vaughn, who was sitting at another section of the stadium.
"He said, 'You need to go check on your daughter. It looks like she just got hit by a foul ball.' I said, 'Oh my gosh how could this be happening? I had just taken her to her first baseball game and she got hit,'" Vaughn said.
Sure enough, Magic Johnson walked over to Reagan and made sure she was OK, and signed a ball to give to her. It was a moment she will never forget.
"I don't think she is going to forget this one," Vaughn said.
