BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - After a six-month investigation, Kern County Sheriff's Department deputies have arrested a man accused of drugging and sexual intercourse with minors.
Officials said that about six months ago, the KCSD received information that 28-year-old Anthony Scott Searles-Harris, was hosting parties in the Oildale area and providing female minors with alcohol and illegal controlled substances.
Officials said the KCSD also received information that Searles-Harris was engaging in sexual activity with female minors while they were under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault and Abuse Investigative Unit investigated the allegations during the following six months.
At the conclusion of their investigation, the case was forwarded to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office for review. After reviewing the case the District Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for Searles-Harris' arrest.
On Monday, Searles-Harris was arrested on the outstanding warrant charging him with lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age, oral copulation with a person under 18 years of age, oral copulation with a person under 14 years of age, distributing obscene material to a child under 18 years of age, and annoying/molesting a child.
He was booked into the Kern County Jail. His bail has been set at $160,000.
