Man accused of kidnapping, sexual assaulting assualting woman on Oak Street

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a
man suspect wanted for the sexual assault and kidnapping of a woman.
On Monday at about 3 a.m., Bakersfield police officers were sent to the 800 block of Oak Street regarding a sexual assault.
Officers said a woman was walking northbound on Oak Street when she was approached from behind.
The man grabbed the woman, drug her a short distance into a planter with shrubbery and threw her to the ground, officials said. He then sexually assaulted her.
The woman was able to fight back and escape, officials said.
The man then fled on foot eastbound on Sunset Avenue.
The man is described as a Hispanic, 5 feet 1 inches tall, with a medium build, full trimmed
beard, wearing a black long sleeved shirt with a white logo on it and black pants.
