Man accused of killing woman, burning her body, pleads not guilty

BAKERSFIELD - The man accused of killing a woman and leaving her body in a fire pit along Edison Highway entered a plea of not guilty and is being held on $1 million bail.

Thirty-year-old Alejandro Leno is accused of killing Evelynn Chuca.

Police found partial remains of her body burned in a fire pit. An autopsy later revealed she was stabbed to death.
