Officials said the man accused of fatally shooting a woman Monday afternoon has been found dead.
Bakersfield police officers said that at about 4:15 p.m. Monday, they sent to 2605 South Eye Street regarding a request for an ambulance due to an adult woman who was not breathing and bleeding.
Hall Ambulance personnel took 44-year-old Maria Medina to San Joaquin Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Officers determined that the cause of death was the result of gunshot wound.
The investigation into the case has led to an arrest warrant charging 52-year-old Adan Medina Miramontes with murder.
At about 2:30 p.m., officers were sent to the area of Hermosa Road and Tejon Highway.
Officers said they found Miramontes dead in his vehicle.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
