Man accused of robbery, kidnapping wanted

The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a man accused of robbery, kidnapping and participation in a criminal street gang.

On Nov. 21, at about 9:35 p.m., Bakersfield Police Department Officers were sent to the 800 block of Bernard Street regarding a robbery.

Officer said that Timothy Jason Gonzalez, 37, contacted someone at Jefferson Park, brandished a firearm and demanded money.

Officials said Gonzalez then proceeded to forcefully escort the victim to the victim’s vehicle. While walking to the vehicle, the victim was able to escape and the suspect fled the scene.

Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Gonzalez, charging him with robbery, kidnapping and participation in a criminal street gang.
