DELANO - Deputies served a search warrant for an illegal outdoor marijuana cultivation in the area of Cecil Avenue and Wasco Pond Road in Delano Thursday.
The grow site was found to be out of compliance with the Medical Marijuana Cultivation Ordinance. A search of the property resulted in the seizure of 79 marijuana plants with a street value of approximately $200,000, according to Sgt. Cesar Ollague with the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
Code Compliance Officers assisted with the non-compliant operation.
During the execution of the search warrant, a vehicle was seen leaving the vicinity.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and made contact with the occupants. Deputies seized an illegally possessed shotgun, ammunition and marijuana.
30-year-old Greg Zuniga of Bakersfield was arrested for illegal possession of a shotgun and ammunition, and illegal possession of less than an ounce of Marijuana. Zuniga was booked into the Central Receiving Facility.
